- Tomales Bay State Park: pictures and info (Elk!), backpacking, kayaker campsites! reservations: call (415) 663-8054 between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm (clint) 1 word - bbq oysters
- Pomo Canyon State Park
- High Peaks Loop, Pinnacles National Monument pictures(Clint) - pinnacles is a fairly small park, but interesting rock formations. it gets HOT there.. i know a really good restaurant nearby :)
- steep ravine environmental campground not really camping but looks cool!
a little farther out
- subway cave (pics) and hat creek (pics) - Lassen National Forest: 4 hours? (clint) i really like lassen.. there will probably still be quite a bit of snow up there.. might want to call ahead.. but we could even bring our boards maybe
- Rancheria Falls: pictures 4hrs (Tel: 209-372-0200, 209 379 1899)(clint) never been there... looks like Lord of the Rings!!
farther yet but maybe worth it!
- Pear Lake, Sequoia National Park (clint) never been camping in sequoia.. interested.
- Twin Lakes, Sequoia National Park
